Wells Field Trip

On the beach and in the pinewoods

Wells Field Trip 2010

Wednesday 19th May

At last we got to Wells. We put our bag in the Shelduck room then we went out to the beach and pinewoods. While we were at the beach we found treasures on the beach. Then we went in the pinewoods. When we got in the pinewoods we stopped where we could sit down. We could have a cookie if we thought of a describing word for the woods. I thought of prickly.

Over the dunes

Thursday 20th May

We went for a walk around the village. That was exciting! When we were on our walk we went into a crab shed. Then we learnt how to dress a crab. It was really smelly!!

After that we went to the salt marsh. We found out how long it takes for a foot print to turn back to flat sand. We sat down on some comfy rocks and ate lunch. Then we were told to walk in each others footprints. We saw salt pans. They bubbled and they made a snap, crackle and pop noise.

After we had a rest and we went bird watching. We saw some amazing birds. Some were called oystercatcher, shelduck and ducks.

We did some jobs like setting the table, washing up, drying up and cooking. It was really nice food.

I had great fun!!

Into the pinewoods

Friday 21st May

We all had just woken up from bed. Wow what a long night it was! The first thing we did was eat our breakfast. It was delicious! We all walked into the classroom.

The next activity was getting ready for the compass trail. It was easy! We got our outdoor shoes on and set off to the minibus. When we got to the deer park we set off on the trail. It was fab! Mr Griffin helped the Mammoths and Nell said that the adults were just to have a nice walk. Nell didn’t find out about it! We all got back on the minibus to the centre. When we were in the building we all took our outdoor shoes off and put our slippers on.

Finally it was lunchtime. We had our lunch in the classroom while we watched our slideshow of pictures we took yesterday. We finished packing and stuff.

Sadly it was time to leave. We said good bye to Nell. We all picked up our suitcase ad started to dump them in the coach. It was a long journey home. It was boring! Finally we got back to school. We all went home early and year 5, 6 and some year 4 were still at school.
