The BFG

It was one o'clock in the mroning and Sophie could not sleep.

She had wrestled with her pillow all night and still she could not sleep.

The moonbeam was excruciatingly bright. It was like a monster coming to get her. Sophie was terrified.

There was silence outside.

Evryone in the dormitory had been asleep for hours. There were 31 children in the dormitory and all girls.

Sophie wanted to get out and close the gap in the curtains. But she knew she wasn't allowed out after lights out.

Sophie knew that no one was about. No one upstairs or downstairs.

The grandfather clock struck two, but Sophie made up her mind, jumped out of her bed and reacher for her glasses.

She saw something coming down the street and it was .....

Olivia

The BFG

It was midnight and Sophie couldn't sleep. All the rest of the children in the dormitory were fast asleep in their dreams. There was a small gap in the curtains which was creating a shining moonlight beeam slicing through the window, sparkling onto her pillow.

The silence was extraordinary, Sophie had never such silence in her entire life. Maybe it was the witching hour that a girl ahd told her about once.

She looked around and listened carefully. She was sure no one was about. She got up very bravely. You got punished if you get out of bed at night time even if you say you have to go to the toilet. That didn't count as an excuse.

She reacher for her steel rimmed glasses which were beside her bed on a chair. She couldn't see much without them, even something very bold.

She walked over to the window and peeked through the curtains.
