Computers have a wide range of lettering styles
built in.
These are known as
FONTS
Each Font Style has a name. There are thousands of fonts with more being created all the time.
Here are all the letters for one type of font.
Helvetica
The most widely used font in the world.
Designing your own Lettering can be a lot of fun and quite a challenge.
Scarlett
A very small selection of different font styles.
When people design a font they have to think
about all the letters of the alphabet,
both capitals and small letters. They usually start
with a pencil sketch.
Choose a letter style from the picture above and then try creating other letters of the alphabet in the same style. Then try creating some of your own.
Ellie
Ellie managed to get the letters the same size first time.
If you find yourself making letters of different sizes
use lines or grids to help you. They are very useful when you try the 3D letters further down the page as you will see.
