Object Drawing

It's a whole different way of drawing.

Drawing with objects.

How??

Matisse was the first person to create an object drawing and he did it by hand. He took some brightly coloured paper, tore them into bits and then arranged them to create a picture.

Can you tell what animal he was suggesting?

The pleasure of object drawing is that everything moves easily. Every object you draw can be moved, resized, recoloured as many times as you like with ease. You can move things around and try out different design ideas.

The key to object drawing - moveable objects

If you try doing this with a painting programme you just can't move things around so easily.

Try it out with paper first.
Take a set of 2D objects.

Colour the shapes as beautifully as you can, cut them out and then try placing them in different designs until you find one you like. The key here is trying out different designs or modelling different designs.
