The Menin Gate

The gate at the eastern end of the town of Ypres marks the starting of one of the main roads out of the town that led Allied soldiers to the front line during the First World War.

The gate was dedicated to the missing British and Commonwealth soldiers who were killed
in the battles around Ypres.
